The Negro Soldier

The US Government has produced many wartime documentaries aimed at drumming up support for the war effort.  One such example is The Negro Soldier. Written by Carlton Moss and Directed by Frank Capra and Stuart Heisler this film explores the exploits of Blacks in American military history.  Released in 1944, the film highlights the history starting with the Revolutionary War and goes forward to the then present day wartime narrative of WWII. Join us after the screening for a discussion about the impact of the film.
